My name is Ilario Piatti and I work between Italy and Switzerland as a photographer specialising in the visual narration of architectural projects. My artistic education at the Libera Accademia delle Belle Arti (LABA) in Brescia, together with years of collaboration with architectural practic- es, design companies and professionals in the construction sector, has shaped a rigorous and conscious approach to the representation of space. Over time, I have developed a working method based on listening to the project, reading the built environment and constructing coherent visual se- quences capable of conveying not only the form of architecture, but also its process, use and relationship with context. Today, I support studios and designers in the creation of visual narratives conceived to endure over time, where photography is not a mere docu- mentation tool but an integral part of the project.
I work as a narrator of architectural projects, focusing on the construction of a clear and consistent visual reading of the project. Photography is the central language of my approach. Video and other tools are introduced only when they are truly functional to the understanding of the project and consistent with its objectives. Every decision — from the medium to the shooting rhythm, from the number of images to the final format — originates from the project itself, rather than from a predefined list of services.

The photographic project developed for the offices of Universal Music Italy in Milan documents the interior design intervention by Boxy System, highlighting the relationship between architecture, corporate identity, and the quality of the working environment.
The aim of the work was to portray a contemporary, dynamic and representative space, capable of reflecting the values of the brand while supporting the creative and operational processes typical of the music industry.
Through a sequence of images conceived as a visual journey, the project emphasizes spatial layout, the dialogue between collaborative areas and more private zones, and the careful use of materials and finishes. Photography becomes a tool to balance function and aesthetics, conveying the perception of space, the role of natural and artificial light, and the chromatic coherence of the interiors.
The result is a precise and consistent visual documentation, designed to support institutional communication, portfolio presentation and marketing materials, offering a clear and professional reading of the project as a whole.
This project was approached as a narrative unfolding over time.
The documentation developed through multiple site visits, conceived to observe the architecture in different moments and to provide a coherent, continuous and non-episodic reading.
The approach allowed the work to move beyond an immediate representation of the building, focusing instead on the construction of a sequence capable of holding together space, light and context.
The relationship between interior and exterior, the quality of materials and environmental variations become central elements of the narrative, observed in their evolution rather than as isolated images.
The selection of photographs favours spatial continuity and the dialogue between the built structure and the landscape, avoiding exhaustive description in favour of an essential and measured narrative.
The project is conveyed through a visual rhythm that guides the viewer’s gaze, allowing the architectural identity to emerge over time.
The result is a sequence of images that does not simply document the building, but interprets its character, conveying its meaning through light, material and relationship with context.
