Finding a freelance artworker is easy. Finding a good one can be a different story. The people I work for tell me I am good. I’m a freelance senior artworker who's well-regarded for high standards, attention to detail, accuracy and quality control. I take the same level of ownership and commitment to a project that you’d get from permanent staff and I try to always go above and beyond what you’d normally expect from a freelancer. I'm considered a really safe pair of hands when it comes to finalising artwork. A client recommendation says “Like a really good goalkeeper – nothing got past Jason even if it had got past everyone else.” I'm not a frustrated or aspiring designer. I have a good eye for layout and typography but I’ve always taken the view that design and artwork are quite different skillsets – so I’m more than happy sticking to what I’m really competent at, and that’s error-free artwork production with excellent attention to detail. I’ve been preparing artwork for over 30 years and a committed career freelancer since 2004. Unlike some freelancers I don't have a client list as long as your arm. I think this speaks volumes about the quality of my work and the fact that long-term projects, repeat bookings and satisfied clients are my top priority. Once I get my feet under the table I tend to get booked consistently – with five and eleven year freelance stints in my career history. My core skills include taking established creative/design concepts and progressing them through to final artwork. I’m comfortable dealing with account handlers or direct with a client to take and action amendments, initial proofreading to a good grammatical standard, image retouching, artwork checks and upload/approval of final files for print or digital. I have in-depth knowledge of the usual Adobe CS design software. InDesign would be my strongest skill, along with Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat pdf creation with a strong background in the technicalities of print and repro. I’m based just outside Manchester and work for most of my clients remotely, but can work from any office that's a practical commute if necessary. My LinkedIn profile and posts have some kind words of recommendation from clients and colleagues, along with a downloadable portfolio and CV. Please note: due to current confidentiality agreements my portfolio only shows selected examples. I could show you all the examples in the world but the only way I’ll prove my worth is getting to grips with your work – so if you need a quality freelance senior artworker it would be great to hear from you.
