Hey everyone! I have always wanted to be an illustrator, specifically and children's book illustrator. In childhood, I was inspired by Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, The Penderwicks, Anne of Green Gables, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Dr. Suess. I have experience in a variety of mediums: digital (Adobe Illustrator), oil paints, acrylics, watercolors, gouache, pen and ink, graphite, and charcoal. I have worked with illustrating in company projects, presented my artwork in galleries and competitions, and am working on my degree in Illustration with an emphasis in Publishing.

uniE621 Caricature Portrait of Company Founder
This was made for a job posting on Twine for a company's website. I used Adobe Illustrator, and I produced it in less than a week's time. This proved to be very fun and an engaging process.
    uniE621 Mother of All Living
I recently finished working on this ink piece. It has personal meaning for me because it is a self portrait and represents the biblical character Eve. This showcases my capabilities in portraiture and knowledge of facial proportions, as well as an appreciation for aesthetics.
    uniE621 Blue Moon
watercolours mattise landscape I really loved making this watercolor painting. I was inspired by Henri Mattise and his use of simple shapes and color. I liked making the goldfish in the pond and the organic shape of the trees and the splotchy patterns in the moon. A lovely setting for an illustration.
    uniE621 Wrestle
children coloredpencil ink nostalgia This was fun to make and inspired book illustrations that I submitted to a company in that same time frame. This is inspired by a family reunion I went to where there was a lot of play and wrestling and it was fun to watch my little cousins play together.
    uniE621 Ancestral Pioneers
ancestry pioneers graphite portrait familyportrait This piece is important to me because it is a portrait of a small family from my own ancestral family tree. The significance of their lives has impacted the generations the followed. I created it from graphite. The style of the clothing is inspired by Klimt. The patterns and details were fun to develop and work with.
    uniE621 Vase of roses
illustration flowers mattise penandink This piece is made with pen and ink and was inspired by the artwork of Henri Mattise and the style of primitivism that his works present. I love this style of open line work for children's books. It is quick to make and has a refreshing result.
    uniE621 Sleeping Baby
baby portrait mixedmedia graphite penandink This piece is special to me because it is of my baby nephew who has brought so much light to my life as I have been far from the rest of family while in college. I used graphite, pen ink, and embroidery thread to create this piece. Again, capturing stillness and childhood innocence and peace is a big theme in my art. This was gifted to his mother on Mother's Day and is hanging in her living room.
    uniE621 Perfume Bottle
oils perfume realism fineart This is one of my most realistic paintings. It is made with oils. The process was tedious yet satisfying as the elements started working together. Using a photo reference, I was able to capture the highlights and shadows that reflect through glass. This piece is currently hanging in a community fine art gallery (Art Grows Rexburg Competition 2024).
    uniE621 The Balloon Girl
balloons gouache children I really connected with this gouache painting because I have a strong inner child. The feeling of the fleeting experience of childhood be is portrayed here. Time moves quickly, like a dream. The bright red and yellow hues are eye catching and reminiscent of childhood memories.
    uniE621 Ancestral Roots
ancestry nativeamerican acrylics bookcover This is an acrylic painting I had fun working on. It is set up so it could be used as a book cover or book illustration. My fiancé has Native American ancestry and he encouraged me to create a painting of a Native American. The rich and vibrant colors, along with the line work were exciting to put together to create this piece.
    uniE621 Girl's Camp PEACE Logo
This is a pen drawing that I made for a young women's camp logo and it was accepted and used for the camp shirts and banners. This was created during the Covid19 pandemic and was inspired by the internal search for peace.
