The Robert R. McCormick Foundation is seeking a part-time, seasonal AV Intern to support the AV team with speaker installation for the Christmas at Cantigny show. Reporting to the Lead AV Technician, the intern will assist with equipment setup, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting technical issues. Assist with the installation and setup of speakers and other AV equipment. Support routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning, testing, and minor repairs. Help troubleshoot technical issues related to speaker installation and operation. Requirements High school diploma, bachelor’s degree, or current enrollment in a program related to Information Technology, Audio Engineering, Media, or a similar field. One year or less of relevant experience. Interest in AV technology and live event production. Basic understanding of AV equipment, speaker wiring, and signal flow. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Willingness to work outdoors in hot, cold, rainy, or snowy conditions. Ability to lift and transport AV equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Availability to work flexible hours depending on weather conditions and event needs. Position Details Employment type: Part-time, seasonal Seasonal dates: October 22 through October 30 Supervisor: Lead AV Technician Work location: In person at Cantigny Pay: $20.00 per hour Working Conditions The position involves working in both indoor and outdoor settings and may require exposure to hot, cold, rainy, or snowy weather.
