Innova Electronics Corporation is seeking a hands-on Mobile UX/UI Designer to design and improve user experiences across two mobile applications: an established product and a newer application focused on a core user experience. The role involves translating defined business objectives, product requirements, product capabilities, and UX issues into intuitive, complete mobile experiences. The designer will create and refine user flows, screen layouts, interaction behaviors, visual hierarchies, application states, user-facing copy, and development-ready specifications. Responsibilities include designing primary and alternate flows, error, loading, empty, validation, and confirmation states; maintaining reusable components and the mobile design system; applying accessibility and usability principles; conducting targeted usability checks and UX experiments; and iterating designs based on feedback, usability findings, and product data. The designer will work independently on assigned UX/UI problems while collaborating with business, operations, and software development teams, including the Vietnam-based development team. They will explain design decisions, address edge cases, answer implementation questions, and help maintain consistent visual and interaction patterns. This is a hands-on UX/UI position rather than a product management, product strategy, research leadership, visual-design-only, or people-management role. Product priorities, business objectives, roadmap decisions, technical architecture, and engineering delivery are owned by the appropriate stakeholders and development teams. Requirements Approximately 3–5 years of experience in UX/UI design, mobile application design, or a related digital design role. A strong portfolio demonstrating both user experience and interface design. Strong understanding of user flows, information hierarchy, interaction design, mobile interface design, and visual design. Ability to translate established requirements and rough concepts into complete, usable mobile experiences. Ability to design beyond the primary happy path and account for alternate flows and system states. Strong attention to detail, visual consistency, usability, and accessibility. Experience creating and maintaining reusable design components and design systems. Proficiency with Figma and the ability to create development-ready designs and specifications. Ability to write concise, clear user-facing copy and microcopy. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain design reasoning, assumptions, and tradeoffs. Comfort receiving feedback, discussing alternative approaches, and revising designs when evidence supports a better solution. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with business, operations, and technical teams. Strong ownership, follow-through, and problem-solving skills. Bachelor’s degree required. At least one year of professional software experience required. Preferred Qualifications Experience designing consumer-facing mobile applications. Experience working on both established products and new application development. Experience collaborating directly with software development teams. Experience working with offshore or internationally distributed teams. Experience creating or maintaining a mobile design system. Automotive industry or automotive DIY experience. Employment Details Contract-to-hire position with potential conversion to regular full-time employment based on performance, business needs, and mutual fit. The contract is intended to be an ongoing working arrangement, not a freelance or project-based engagement. This is an in-person role based at Innova’s headquarters in Irvine, California. Compensation and Benefits Contract rate: $59–$78 per hour, up to 29 hours per week. Upon conversion to regular full-time employment: $90,000–$120,000 annually, plus employee benefits. Contractors are not eligible for employee benefits during the contract period. Full-time benefits may include medical and dental insurance, a 401(k) plan, life insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays, and a supportive work environment. Read more
