My name is Jon Wooten, and I solve problems. I've been a designer for over 15 years, a copywriter for 5, an art director for 8, and a creative director for 5. In all that experience I've learned that graphic design really is problem solving. When a project comes to me, I do research. I make sure that whatever is created not only has a solid consistency across the board, but I also make sure my designs have legs. I create things that can grow, shift, change with the times while still being recognizable as part of the brand. Whether it is company branding, social media graphics, or presentation decks, I put all of my effort into what I'm doing. During my time at Misfits Gaming Group, I managed a team of designers, contractors, and freelancers. It was my job to balance three brands in tandem with the father company brand and any special event campaigns that required branding and outreach. I communicated ways that we could capitalize on upcoming events, or share marketing insights for platforms we were underutilizing. I love to lead a team, not just with directing projects, but inspiring and encouraging them to perform at their best. I take time to create tools and streamline methods of workflow so that everything is consistent. Both in design and cataloguing, I believe consistency can make or break your trustworthiness as a company. I am constantly open to criticism, and I make it my goal that everyone is proud of the work that comes out of my direction. I use my experience, talent, and passion for people to drive the best work possible. I have worked for companies like Walt Disney World, EA Sports, Ripley's Believe it or Not, and more. These companies have challenged me and created a drive in me to not settle for just doing the bare minimum of a job. I believe in long-term creativity, design needs to tell a story, and in order to do that well you need a brand that is alive. I do my research with trending designs, as well as demographics to make sure whatever artwork is making its way to the public is confident, trustworthy, and engaging.
