Josie’s work covers everything gloopy, sparkly, angry, messy, gay, hard-to-define, cozy, intimate, rainy, sunny, and weird out there.
She loves to pitch in to video games by making and implementing unique sound worlds where the music and audio seek to tell a bigger story and grow foliage around the player. Josie seeks to work with developers and artists with strong creative visions, especially those shining a focus on underrepresented folks and ideas. Her work can be found across games like Rift of the NecroDancer, Blossom Tales, Mixolumia, Freshly Frosted, EXTREME MEATPUNKS FOREVER, and more.
As a composer, sound designer, and audio implementer, Josie has been creating music and audio experiences for games, film, dance, and interactive theater projects since 2012. As an independent musician, she toured the US and performed internationally, combining sample-based electronic sounds with analog instrumentation. She recently completed a Masters in Scoring for Film and Multimedia from New York University.
In addition to the technical work Josie has done in Unity and games using custom audio engines, she also develops her own small personal games like text me when you get home, Paintings, and Flirting using Bitsy and Flickgame. Music from her three open-source Songs from an Unmade World albums have been used in hundreds of projects around the world.
