My name is Julian Ramirez, and I am reaching out to express my interest in the position as a remote video editor. I believe that my experience as an independent filmmaker and video editor could make me a valuable asset to your team. Over the past three years, I have produced 20 video projects that range from short films, short documentaries, fan made music videos and official music videos for local artists in my area. This is not including the variety of short form content I have developed for my own and employers’ social media. This role required a knowledge of video editing, writing, directing, and sound design that was all overseen by myself. Moreover, I have created various innovative partnerships with actors and cinematographers in order to elevate the quality of the projects I’ve created. As an intern for various artists and companies, I’ve been able to develop my skills as a video editor. As a media arts intern for Tampa Bay Arts and Education Network I created a promotional video that was posted on their website, and as freelance editor for Personofi I edited a variety of videos for CEO Topher Morrison ranging from book reviews and client work. I’ve also reached out to artists I admire and formed fruitful collaborations. This includes Buck Trick, a local painter I’ve worked as a videographer and editor for, promoting his paintings on his social media. As well as an editor for rap manager Coach Bombay, going on to edit and color narrative short films that promoted new music from underground rappers like Rome Streetz and Def Soulja. I have recently begun working under the America Nu Network and have worked closely with American entrepreneur, Dame Dash, on editing a new documentary series called “The OG stories”. Through my own passion projects and experience with internships, I have developed the necessary skills and knowledge to be prepared for the industry. Specifically, I believe my perseverance, technical, communication, and organizational skills as well as my work in video editing would highly align with the requirements for the video editor position.
