Hi, I’m Oleksandr Kovalenko. I’ve built web products end to end, from backend logic to the user interface. While I’m comfortable across the full stack, I’m especially drawn to frontend work because that’s where users actually experience the product. I enjoy thinking about user journeys, feedback, and flow. One project I found particularly interesting was for a real estate brokerage in Zurich, where we had to present thousands of listings in a way that still felt human and usable. I’m naturally drawn to work that focuses on clarity, learning, and real understanding, not just shipping features. I often find myself supporting people who are learning something new, whether colleagues or junior developers, especially when they feel overwhelmed or stuck. Helping others gain confidence through well-designed tools and thoughtful systems is something I genuinely care about. I’ve worked with teams across different countries and time zones, including the US, Canada, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, and I’ve also lived there for a short period. I’m very people‑oriented by nature. I enjoy encouraging others, seeing them grow, and growing together with them. In my free time, I like helping non-technical people use technology in simple, practical ways. I’ve built small tools to solve everyday problems and have organized tech meetups in Zurich while advocating for web accessibility. I believe software should work well for everyone, not just ideal users. I enjoy working closely with product and design, thinking things through, and moving forward together.
