Leon Ross is an Australian multimedia composer based in Melbourne, specializing in film scoring and sound design.
Ross earned a Bachelor of Applied Music in 2018, receiving awards for Outstanding Student and Best Film Score, along with the AVCAT Long Tan Bursary. He later pursued a master’s degree remotely at the University of Chichester in the UK while working on professional projects.
He has composed scores for films like Today (2020), Hatchback (2022), and Their American Dream (2023), and contributed sound mixing to various shorts. Mentored by composer George Papanicolaou, Ross has worked at Original Score and Audio Force, earning festival nominations worldwide.
Leon Ross co-founded Ross Records with his wife, Elena Ross, forming an award-winning composer duo blending Australian and Eastern European influences with electronic production and orchestration. Their Melbourne studio serves as a creative hub for post-production music, mentorship, and projects including scores for Universal Pictures’ The Lost Tiger (2024), What About Sal (Netflix) and The Girl In The Shadows (2026) . Leon also teaches film scoring at Box Hill Institute, guiding over 100 emerging composers and supervising 200+ student films in collaboration with Deakin and Swinburne Universities .
