I am a graduating scene designer and freelance character artist devoted to putting as much pathos as I can into my work. I view designing both characters and setting as a conversation with the viewer, not just fitting into the story but actively enhancing and contributing to it. I have always enjoyed using art to explore the feeling of wonder and horror that people can be quick to shy away from. My work leans into this interest, emphasizing the surreal and macabre. This can be seen in set designs like “Bluebeard's Castle”, that mixes the imagery of a darkened cave and an open maw, and art like “Awakening”, portraying a gargantuan beast half dead, rising with a vengeance. To create these pieces I comfortably work in both digital art and watercolor mediums, as it allows me to visualize the world in layers that overlap and interact with each other. Looking forward, I want to delve further into these themes, be it through professional set design or freelance artworks. I hope to encourage the audience to engage with the visuals of stories from a more psychological and self reflective lens.
