I turn ideas into motion, focusing on animated explainers. See more on: longhuydao.de During my Design degree I specialised in 2D motion, typography and narrative visualisation. I learned how to break down complex topics and turn them into clear, engaging stories that are easy to follow. My work today sits exactly at the intersection: explainers, essays and documentaries on science, politics, culture and history that are both informative and entertaining. Altogether I have over three years of experience in 2D motion design across agency and freelance work. I have worked on explainers and essay-style videos for agencies like MillerFilme and navos create. I worked on explainers for culture and science, including projects that deal with sensitive topics and memory culture, such as the series "Stolen Memory". These experiences sharpened both my visual storytelling skills and my understanding of responsible, research-driven content. In parallel I completed my animated documentary bachelor film “zwischenzeit” about Vietnamese contract workers in the GDR. It combines editorial research with personal storytelling and 2D animation. In addition I developed an animated explainer about bipolar disorder that translates the emotional rollercoaster into a clear visual language. On the client side I created an animated film for the citizen science project “Nürnberg forscht”. It turns complex research findings into a concise narrative. All in all I worked with many clients, primarily focusing on science and culture such as: Max-Planck-Institute, Robert-Koch-Institute, Charité Berlin, Arolsen Archives. Across all of these projects I work primarily in After Effects and the Adobe Creative Cloud. I also use Blender for simple 3D when needed. My strengths are designing visuals that support the argument of a script. Besides pure 2D animation I also stylize footage through compositing, grading and integrating graphics into live action.
