Viola da gamba, composition, production and sound exploration.
Luca Cescotti is an Italian songwriter, composer and producer.
After an academic training at the Conservatory of Vicenza, Luca stands out for his eclecticism and often unconventional use of the viola da gamba.
He collaborates with numerous early music groups (Modo Antiquo, Biscantores, Voz Latina…) with whom he performs on prestigious stages, performing Baroque repertoire and recording really interesting albums.
He founded the early music quartet O Vive Rose Ensemble, with which he performs in numerous festivals of early and medieval music, always researching his personal approach to the early music.
Among various commitments, in recent years he has mainly dedicated himself to a project that he is very attached to: his solo project for which he is now recording the second album.
But Luca is also creating music that tells stories. Not only a songwriter, but also a movie soundtrack composer and producer
Luca Cescotti in fact has composed and produced music for several documentaries, and their work has been recognized at international film festivals. One of their notable works is the soundtrack for “Reznica”, by Davor Marincovic which is currently being showcased at the international film festival in Belgrade and Pordenone (Italy).
During this spring Luca plays an artistic residency in Mantova, where they’ll fuse Baroque music and Jazz to create a unique and beautiful musical experience. The group of musicians will record an album at the end of the residency.
Mix is always present in Luca’s musical project. His dedication to the craft have allowed him to make a name for themselves and continue to create music that resonates with people.
