This first season presents a series of portraits of the inhabitants of Lucky Land, a small imaginary city located in the north of the Republic of Luzbekistan.

Chapter 1: Bolt Barber Shop

The barbershop is a family business that has been in the Bolt family for four generations and has been in operation for more than 40 years. Grandpa Marcus Bolt came to Lucky Land when he was 20 years old looking for better opportunities for his family in Jamaica.It is interesting to see how the story of the Bolt family and their immigration to Lucky Land has been intertwined with the history of the barbershop and its presence in the community for so many years. The Bolt family barbershop is not only a place where people get haircuts, but also a place where people gather and socialize. For example, some clients may come just to chat and hang out, even if they don’t need a haircut right now.
