Hi, I’m Mahder Teferra, a creative multidisciplinary freelancer based in Boston, MA (soon relocating to Ireland). I bring together experience in event production, community engagement, content creation, and organizational leadership — all rooted in a passion for storytelling, youth culture, and building meaningful experiences. I recently graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.S. in Agroecology and Landscape Design, but much of my work has centered on creativity, community connection, and operations. I’ve spent the last several years working across student government, athletics, event teams, and nonprofit sports organizations — often stepping into roles that require problem-solving, design thinking, and strong communication. Most recently, I served as President of UVM’s Student Government Association, leading a 43-member senate and representing 11,000+ students in high-level decision-making. I’ve supervised large teams, managed projects from idea to execution, and built engagement initiatives that reached thousands. Alongside leadership work, I’ve developed a strong event and creative operations background through roles with Vermont Green Football Club, the University Program Board, and UVM Athletics. I’ve produced in-game entertainment for crowds of 2,500+, managed matchday operations, written scripts, coordinated volunteers, and contributed to mission-driven campaigns — all while crafting environments that feel welcoming, exciting, and community-centered. On the technical and creative side, I work with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and various event management and operations platforms. I’m skilled in communicating with large groups, designing engaging experiences, and adapting quickly in fast-paced environments. I’m also fluent in Tigrinya and Amharic. Whether I’m supporting events, managing operations, creating content, or helping shape brand messaging, I bring enthusiasm, reliability, and a strong ability to connect with people. I’m excited to collaborate on freelance projects where creativity, culture, and organization come together.
