Maja Alvanovic’s music has been hailed by critics as “breath of fresh air, beautifully lyrical, cinematic, spiritually sublime, sophisticated, intelligently uplifting, capable of knocking you off your feet“. Classically trained pianist and educator at Academy of Arts University of Novi Sad, in June 2024. Maja also pursued a professional certificate from Berklee Online College of Music: Composing and Orchestrating for Film and TV, which she passed with top honors, becoming also the winner of the Matt Marvuglio Celebrity Scholarship. Since 2010, when she first appeared as a music author and leader of Majamisty TriO ensemble, she was blurring the lines between genres, creating a work of subtle elegance from Western classical structures, jazz spontaneity and the complex rhythms of her native land.
