I’m Marco Martini, a London-based sound designer, composer and engineer with over a decade of freelance work. I recently completed the first season of Pop Paper City, a 52-episode animated pre-school series distributed by Aardman and broadcast in over 60 countries, where I served as a sound designer, foley artist and dubbing mixer. I also lecture in Sound Theory and Sound Design at NABA University, delivering online English lessons to students at the Milan and Rome campuses. My projects span engineering for artists like Ed Sheeran and George Michael; producing language courses for Pearson (including casting and directing actors and singers); scoring music and sound design for BBC-commissioned animated series produced by Mosaic Films; and, since 2020, collaborating with Good Time Entertainment to restore and remaster their vast catalog in high-resolution audio dating back to the 1940s.
I began my career at Green Movie Group in Milan, taking on roles from Dubbing Mixer to Recording Engineer, Sound Designer, Casting Director, and more, contributing to hundreds of commercials for major brands. I also worked at Nikto Recording Studio and Cave Digital, recording and mixing albums for Italian pop artists and managing studio operations. Outside the studio I performed as a keyboard player in local bands during the 1990s. This blend of creative and technical experience informs my approach to sound as a narrative tool.
