𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆:
I helped restaurants increase their reservation without additional marketing costs by improving table utilisation through intelligent table merging. Also, I created a smooth staff scheduling system that facilitates communication and decision making.

𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀:
Creating weekly staff schedules is time-consuming and error-prone due to chaotic and inconsistent communication, requiring managers to manually balance availability, reservations, labour constraints, and overtime hours.

To address this, I built a scheduling system that centralises availability in a shared work calendar and provides clear staff visibility and filtering tools to streamline decision-making.

𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁𝘀:
Restaurants lose reservation potential because although tables can be merged to seat more guests, doing so requires experience and constant manual coordination. As a result, available capacity is often underutilised.

To address this, I created a smart reservation system that displays the available and occupied tables at each hour of the day and if merging them is accessible. This ensured no reservation opportunity gets left behind.

𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀:
The goal was to deliver an MVP quickly while solving a high-impact operational problem. I collaborated with a partner who facilitated introductions to a restaurant manager and its owner, allowing me to interview them and prioritise their most critical challenges. I then used my full-stack TypeScript expertise to design and build the application end to end.
