I began composing for small projects in 2007 while living in New Zealand, moving into documentaries and television and writing music for clients including Tourism New Zealand. In 2009 I embraced the ukulele, and six months later won the APRA Ukulele Songwriting Competition and performed at the NZ Ukulele Festival in Auckland. In 2011 I returned to Sydney and began composing for TVCs and short films, later winning an anthem commission for a new school in Malaysia and collaborating with environmental group Take 3 on a national campaign called One Beach. I continue to seek challenging projects in short films, commercials, children’s education, and television. I am currently the composer for Blue Gum Farm (Website not available. I run Sounds Like the Ocean, a boutique music house in Hobart, Tasmania. My music blends guitars of all kinds with orchestral and percussion libraries to serve imagery, crafting a distinctive voice for film, TV and education. I work with a wide palette—guitar textures from slide to classical to electric, baritone guitar, bass, ukulele, charango and handmade guitar-like creations—and I combine these with orchestral palettes to create emotive scores.
