uniE621 Character design inspired by mythical Mbyá-Guarani stories
This project was developed as a Graduation Project in Visual Design at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and won the award Prêmio Destaque TCC Apdesign. It consisted of creating concept art for a fictional digital game inspired by the myths and living culture of the Mbyá-Guarani people — one of the Indigenous peoples from southern Brazil, whose rich mythology, filled with stories about creation, nature, and human relationships, is still underrepresented in media, especially in digital games. Guided by professor Maria do Carmo Gonçalves Curtis and co-supervised by professor Gabriela Trindade Perry, the work involved an in-depth study of Mbyá-Guarani traditions, graphic patterns, and symbolic elements. The result is five characters — Kuaray, Jacy, Takuá, Ka’a, and Jakaira — each representing important aspects of this people’s cosmology and daily life. illustrator conceptart illustration art characterdesign digitalart
