paper SeaTac Airport Airline Realignment - Seattle, WA

The SeaTac Airport Airline Realignment project is a multi-million dollar project at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. It is a multi-package project that is relocating one airline’s offices from Concourse A to Concourse B and relocating another airline’s offices from Concourse B to Concourse A. The Port of Seattle is relocating these two airlines to accommodate larger aircrafts for their growing international service. I have been the package lead on Package 3. I have been the main point person for consultant coordination, client and stakeholder presentations, and design documentation for my package.

paper Bridger View Neighborhood - Bozeman, MT

Bridger View is a development in Bozeman, MT that addresses housing inequity in a connected and compact neighborhood. The development is the first LEED ND Gold project in the Rocky Mountain Region to be certified under Version 4. The neighborhood includes 62 housing units on 8 acres adjacent to Bozeman’s Story Mill Community Park. There are shared open spaces and pedestrian connections to the park throughout the neighborhood, and it is adjacent to the local trail system. My work on this project included construction documents, documentation for the PUD (Planned Unit Development) process, and permit documents. I also helped work with the client to determine finish packages for all of the units both interior and exterior. I created renderings to help the clients view the different finish packages and narrow down what options they preferred. I completed a physical massing model of the development for marketing purposes during the schematic design phase of the project. The model consists of solid white oak houses, basswood porches, a museum board base, and hand sculpted clay trees.

paper HRDC Year Round Shelter - Bozeman, MT

The year round shelter is one of the two new buildings for HRDC (Human Resource Development Council) on a single lot north of downtown Bozeman, Montana. The shelter is replacing the old Warming Center in Bozeman that has been over capacity for multiple years in a row, emphasizing the city’s need for better infrastructure for the homeless community. The new building will drastically increase capacity, have separate bunk rooms for men and women, and include family suites. The second building on the site is the new food bank. This building has been designed by Intrisik Architects in Bozeman, Montana. The team at Hennebery Eddy, Comma Q Studio has worked in collaboration with Intrinsik on the site design and coordination of programmatic elements and building interaction between the food bank and the shelter. As a part of the schematic design process we organized an all-staff meeting with everyone at the Human Resource Development Council to determine what programmatic elements were the most crucial for the new year round shelter. The staff were divided into small groups with a variety of job experience within the group to allow for a collaborative conversation. Each group received a game board and programmatic playing pieces that were sized in relation to the physical size the program would occupy in the building. Their task was to determine, with the size restriction of the building, what elements should be included in the new shelter and rank their choices from most to least important. After the exercise we collected all of the game boards and compiled the information. After determining the elements the staff deemed most important, we worked with the ownership team to best incorporate them into the design of the shelter.
