I’m Michael Kang, a multidisciplinary illustrator and designer who blends fine art, digital media, and storytelling to create bold and imaginative visuals. With a BFA in Illustration from California College of the Arts, I’ve built a portfolio that spans apparel, branding, packaging, character design, graphic design, typography and poster art. My work has been showcased in exhibitions and I’ve collaborated on projects ranging from custom portraits and album covers to medical illustrations and interactive digital design. What makes me stand out is the way I merge technical fluency with personal narrative and being able task with different sets of skills and art design. As a first-generation Korean American, my cultural identity and life experiences inspire much of my creative voice, giving my projects emotional depth and authenticity. I approach design holistically moving fluidly between illustration, design, and motion and clients value my ability to translate abstract ideas into impactful visuals that resonate. My process is collaborative, concept-driven, and rooted in storytelling, ensuring every project connects meaningfully with its audience.
