Mila Taraczky (2001) is a Hungarian director and producer currently completing her graduation film M237,
a Hungarian–Dutch coproduction (Non Lieu Film, Staccato Films) at the Film and Television Directing
program of Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). Based in Ludwigsburg, she is also studying International
Producing at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg.
She began producing while assisting Béla Tarr on his international filmmaking course, which led her to
produce Deer Bell (Friss Hús – Oscar-qualifying festival, Best Documentary, 2024). She continued
working with Tarr by editing his production CODA, directed by Joshua Elias Palmer (Directors’ Notes
selection), which later led her to serve as post-producer on Palmer’s debut feature The Eye. As an editor,
she has collaborated with artists such as Rick Rubin (eight-time Grammy-winning producer) on his project
Tetragrammaton, and she worked as on-set editor on Kalman’s Day, produced by Jim Stark and directed
by Szabolcs Hajdu.
As a director, she made her debut short Manika and Marika (TEDx LibertyBridgeWomen, 2021), and her
latest film, On the Go (2025), opened the Hungarian Independent Film Festival.
In parallel, she has served as Hungary’s Lux Audience Award Ambassador for the European Parliament,
and as a jury member for Giornate degli Autori at the Venice Film Festival and for FIPADOC’s Young
Europeans Jury. In 2025, she co-founded MASZ (Artists for Freedom), an interdisciplinary Hungarian
initiative supporting artistic freedom and fundamental rights.
