Helping passionate entrepreneurs and small businesses stand out from the crowd with elegant, authentic branding, graphic design services and printed marketing material. With 15 years of experience in the design industry, I bring a refined, elegant approach to all branding and graphic design projects that I work on. Holding an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design, I specialise in crafting timeless designs that resonate with my clients’ audiences. My Applied Language Studies degree assisted with my work as a proofreader for a translation company and this is where I honed my skill for precision and attention to detail. The crossover from languages/the translation industry to the design world may seem strange, but to me they are fairly closely linked - with translation we are helping 2 different communities communicate and with brand identity we are helping a brand communicate with its audience. 2017-present - The Brand Design Boutique (self-employed) 2009-present - Polka Dot Creations (wedding stationery design studio) (self-employed) 2000-2009 - Translation Manager & Proofreader at Network Languages 1999-2000 - Translator Database Manager at SDL Ltd 1997-1999 - German speaking Marketing Assistant EDUCATION 2017 - Diploma and Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design (Shaw Academy) 1993-1997 - BA (Hons) Applied Language Studies, Thames Valley University, Ealing, London 1991-1993 - A-Levels in French, German and Art (grades A, B, B) and GCSE Spanish (grade A) - Franklin 6th Form College, Grimsby 1986-1991 - GCSEs x 8 (3 x grade A, 5 x grade B)

    paper Portfolio
A selection of projects that I have worked on demonstrating my expertise in branding, graphic design and design for print. branddesigner branddesignerportfolio
    paper LBP Wellness Brand Identity
Lou came to me as she was wanting to define a brand identity for her business and she was renaming from her own name to LBP Wellness. Being a wellness coach who wanted to stand out in her field, and based on discussions with Lou and the completion of my comprehensive brand questionnaire, I decided to take a bold approach to Lou's branding with the use of bright, energetic colours to represent that zest for life that Lou wanted to bring to her clients. rebrand brandidentity wellnesscoach wellnessindustry wellnesscoachbranding
paper Event Material for MAV Reality
Jack at MAV was recommended to contact me for graphic design work by another of my clients in the technology space. He was in need of a branded table covering, A3 desktop banner and curved backdrop with lights. With a tight deadline before the event was due to take place I designed the 3 items using their brand assets and arranged for print using 3 different print companies. I work closely with a few print companies who specialise in different areas.
paper Hår - Hairdressing Salon Pricing Menu & Appointment Cards
Working with Joseph, the owner of “hår”, I designed his pricing menu and appointment cards. Joseph wanted to incorporate a bio about the salon within the pricing menu and so the lower half of the leaflet I flipped the colour combination so that this really stood out and was a separate entity to the main menu. Joseph was keen to use recycled card for the leaflets, to align with their sustainable business model, so we opted for a simple recycled card for the leafelts and a “Flora Giglio” card for the business cards which has a little fleck running throughout to give the cards a natural character. Using one of my trusted print partners I chose the most appropriate card type for both items. hairdresserbranding graphicdesign pricelistdesign appointmentcarddesign
paper Brand Design - No. 5 Restaurant & Wine Bar
The restaurant was under new ownership and Claire, the new owner, realised that the existing branding was a little dated. She was looking to retain the existing clientele but also appeal to a younger audience. Through in-depth discussions and a comprehensive brand questionnaire I curated 2 style boards for the client to select the creative direction. From there I created a brand presentation to show how the logo suite/branding would look in different environments. The final logo suite was presented to the client in all colour ways from their brand colour palette along with the brand guidelines. branddesign restaurantbranding brandidentity
paper Champagne & Ginger A5 printed flyers
Jo at Champagne & Ginger was looking for marketing flyers for her business. She already had her branding in place so I worked with her logo suite and brand colour palette to design the flyer. She knew she wanted a map on the reverse so I recommended a handdrawn effect map which suited her brand better than an image from Google maps, which she had first suggested. I work closely with 2 or 3 different print companies on a regular basis so used the most suitable printer to print 1000 copies.
paper Rebrand for Evelyn & Elliot Wedding Stationery Design
Anna had been running her business several years but her style and offerings had evolved and she had started to feel that she wasn’t attracting the sort of clients that she knew her service warranted. Through looking in detail closely at who she wanted to attract, I curated the new brand identity in order for Anna to feel like she could confidently raise her prices, which is what the rebrand enabled her to do. brandidentity rebrand graphicdesign graphicdesigner
