    uniE621 The Smiling Fruits Illustrations
The style of these fruits was based on my old personal logo that you see on Meet the Student. I was very proud of my old logo at the time, so I decided to test it's versatility. I was very surprised to discover that it worked as fruits. I thought it would have lost the authentic vibe of the original logo, but it didn't so it was definitely nice to know that I created a logo that could work on every situation. The reason for the theme was because I used to describe my hair being the top part of an pineapple. My hair used to be very short and spiky. It stuck out a lot and one time somebody told me it reminded them of palm trees or a pineapple. I didn't take it into offense. I thought it was hilarious, so for my senior portfolio stationery set I made my icon into that same spiky-haired person with a smile. It was very similar to the hair you see on the pineapple version. It was very well-received by my peers and was fascinated by the backstory. Therefore when I revisited my old logo a couple of years, I decided to literally make it into fruits to fully embrace the story behind it. Currently, I do not use this style of my logo anymore as I have grown as a Designer but I am still fond of it and would love to create more on my free time. I used Illustrator to create the illustration and specifically used the Pen and Shape tool functions.
    uniE621 IT Book Cover Design
King described "It's" attire as having 3 pom-poms on his blouse paired with Mickey Mouse gloves. He used this form 3 times and as a reader, the scene after it was very terrifying in contrast to the jolly and goofy visual. It stuck with me a lot and thought it would be perfect to be on the cover. It was intriguing enough and until you fully read the book you wouldn't know what it truly meant. On the other hand, once somebody reads this specific passage it's easily deemed to be the most iconic description of It. I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors and Strathmore 300 Series Watercolor Paper for this piece. I embraced the gritty texture and loose look to make it feel natural and not suspicioius.
    uniE621 Tommy the Musical
WCSU's Theatre Department needed a poster for their Spring 2021 musical, "Tommy." It was a rock opera about a boy named Tommy who is deaf, and blind and how he experiences life. The themes included were family, spirituality, and hero worship. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions, this musical never came to production despite having in-progress work before it was cancelled. This was the longest work time I had for WCSU's Communication and Marketing department. It took me almost a year to finish it. The plot was very complex that I had a lot to grab inspiration from. My supervisor, and I bounced a lot of ideas around and we consolidated 3 ideas for the client to choose from. The result you see now was the final choice they chose. They specifically did not want people in the poster, because they wanted people to be surprised about the actors who plays Tommy. They specifically loved the pattern, because it remained true to the funky and bizarre nature of the rock opera. I used Photoshop and InDesign to create this poster. The font used for the body copy was Montserrat and for the heading it was. I used parts of the logo to create the pattern.

uniE621 Meet the Student Carousel Post for Instagram
Every year WCSU's (Western Connecticut State University) Career Success center comes to the Communications and Marketing Department to create a campaign. The campaign's goal was to encourage people to visit the Career Success Center and use Big Interview and Hiration. The center at that time recently invested in these programs, so they were raising awareness of this recent service. It was my idea to make a spin off of a popular challenge from Instagram called MeettheArtist. This was in the hopes that people feel connected with the center and be less intimated by the apps. I drew inspiration from the things that I love such as emojis, bright colors and my favorite font Fredoka to make me feel like me. I also drew inspiration from my hobby, art journaling. Overall, it created a playful vibe but was also successful with incorporating the branding of Big Interview and Hiration to establish a familiarity with the audience. The client was excited about my idea, but unfortunately did not see it being launched as I graduated already and had only a month to stay at Communications and Marketing Department. I used InDesign to create the layout and sourced images from Envato Elements and logos from the apps, Big Interview and Hiration.
