Nova Reyer is a (screen)writer, actor, and ex-soldier. Nova served as an Arabic linguist and intelligence operative in the US Army and National Security Agency from 2004-2013, with two deployments to Afghanistan. After their honorable discharge, they worked as a national security consultant at Booz Allen while finishing their bachelor’s in computer science, then went onto an MBA from Oxford; launched a venture capital-backed tech startup, and staffed a fellowship in Congress focused on technology policy and civil rights. Nova then studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and has acted on award-winning shorts and features. They wrote a horror comedy feature screenplay under the Writer’s Guild Foundation Veterans Writing Project in 2024, under the tutelage of WGA expert screenwriters, and now volunteer as a weekly TA and host of the WGF-SAG Veterans Table Read Series.
