    The brief
    Restaurants, cafés and bars need a steady stream of short-form video for social media, but rarely have the time, budget or skills to produce it. GastRoi turns what a venue already has (its menu, events, dishes and own footage) into ready-to-post marketing videos. GastRoi.com is the global, English-language edition of the Swiss product gastroi.ch, built for international customers with USD pricing.

    What I built
    As co-founder and lead architect, I designed and built the platform end to end:

    • AI video engine: A LangGraph-based “director” pipeline with storyboard-first orchestration, parallel fan-out/fan-in scene generation, async workers and Shotstack rendering. It covers five video formats: Menu, Events Calendar, Event, Item and Highlights to Video.
    • Grounded visuals: A “shot passport” system that uses classical computer vision to index motion and subjects in real footage, plus a framing planner and a stock/AI fallback chain. Prompting rules keep generated scenes realistic rather than fantastical.
    • Media pipeline: Accepts footage straight from any phone or camera and handles the conversion automatically, with clean text overlays and auto-generated social captions.
    • Multi-brand platform: GastRoi.com runs as its own brand in a shared monorepo alongside gastroi.ch and moosti.app. It has its own frontend, brand-aware copy and help center, and USD Stripe plans on a credit-based billing system.
    • Amira, the AI sales assistant: A pre-sales guidance agent backed by a Neo4j knowledge graph and pgvector help-center retrieval, with a multilingual Next.js chat widget.
    • Infrastructure: GDPR-minded hosting with encrypted Hetzner servers and EU-region Cloudflare R2 storage.

    The result
    A live SaaS product with self-serve onboarding, a no-card free trial, and Starter, Growth and Pro plans plus pay-as-you-go credit packs. A venue can upload a menu or a few clips and get a polished, captioned vertical video in minutes, with no editing skills needed.
