Editorial Art Direction: 18+ Solo Magazine Covers for TOS Magazine

Editorial Art Direction: 18+ Solo Magazine Covers for TOS Magazine

Served as the Lead Art Director for a premier educational publication, conceptualizing and executing the visual identity for 18+ solo magazine covers. This project entry showcases the complex multi-theme leadership required over a sustained tenure, highlighting the ability to move seamlessly between photorealistic tech, historical illustration, and premium product metaphors.

The “Art Director’s Selection” Series:
The featured composite visualizes the range and consistency of this series. The central, foreground “Playing Games” issue (representing the main case study) is supported by other high-concept covers—like the STEM/AI robotics issue and the historical watercolor edition—demonstrating the versatility required to manage the monthly publication’s creative vision.

Key Technical & Creative Deliverables:

• Hierarchy & Storytelling: Engineered complex “Hero” covers (like the metallic chess metaphors) that visually communicate the complex monthly academic themes.
• High-Fidelity 3D Mockups: Created custom 3D publication renders to maintain a premium, tactile feel across all visual marketing and portfolio contexts.
• Brand Evolution Strategy: Directed the sustained evolution of the publication’s brand identity, ensuring each issue was visually distinct yet strictly part of the TOS family.
• Digital Compositing Mastery: Executed all complex digital artwork, photo manipulation, color grading, and typography for every issue.
