I am a third-year Computer Science student at “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, developing a strong foundation in both core concepts and industry standards. My coursework covers essential subjects such as Data Structures, Computer Architecture, and Operating Systems, as well as applied topics including Databases, Web development, and Software Engineering. I have also explored Genetic Algorithms, gaining insights into probabilities, metaheuristics, and evolutionary computing; an introduction to Machine Learning theory. Currently, I am advancing my studies with courses in Artificial Intelligence, Neural Networks, and Probabilistic Modeling, which closely align with my long-term goal of becoming a Software Engineer with expertise in Machine Learning. During my internship at Amazon as a Software Development Engineer, I contributed to the internal authorization platform. My team and I developed a scalable solution for programmatic clients by creating new CloudFormation constructs, enabling automated, gradual deployments and significantly reducing onboarding time. I also implemented custom features requested by partner teams, ensuring technical solutions aligned with their requirements. To improve long-term reliability, I enhanced system observability using CloudWatch, maintained over 90% test coverage, and conducted integration tests through CI/CD pipelines. A major challenge was designing a solution that prioritized maintainability, modularity, and scalability. The new constructs follow existing patterns, are easy for users to adopt, self-documenting, and fully functional. This experience strengthened my expertise in cloud automation, TypeScript, and Java while working across diverse AWS services. It also reinforced the importance of understanding customer needs and embodied Amazon’s principles of ownership, curiosity, and the “always Day 1” mindset. Another significant experience is “GiftHub”, a full-stack web platform developed using the T3 stack (Next.js, TRPC, Prisma, and TypeScript). GiftHub allows friends to share events, wishlists, and gifts. The final product was fully functional and deployed ahead of the deadline. I took a leadership role in this project, guiding a team of 22 developers through the Amazon Learn&Earn university contest, which we won. In addition to coordinating sprints and managing milestones, I contributed directly to the backend architecture, database design, and deployment automation. This experience strengthened my skills in DevOps, leadership, and project planning, demonstrating my ability to manage both technical complexity and team dynamics effectively.
