Contract: Full Time, Part Time

Purpose:

• Provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service to build lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers.
• Meet with customers, listen to their project needs, educate them on project requirements, and create a design concept incorporating personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

• Minimum of one (1) year of interior design experience or prior retail/sales experience.
• Degree in Design is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Essential Functions:

• Greet store customers in a helpful manner and support store design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments for existing and potential customers while developing clientele through networking, referrals, and leads generated within the store.
• Provide tile, wood, stone, and accessories advice to homeowners, interior designers, and builders for residential and commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, and aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple simultaneous customer projects with accuracy, timeliness, and follow-up, including consistent and concise communication with customers and others.
• Collaborate, partner, and communicate with store leadership and employees to manage projects from inquiry to installation and achieve sales and other goals.
• Support company initiatives and goals by modeling and coaching best practices with store employees.
• Stay updated on current and emerging design trends in the market.
• Understand and utilize design applications such as Salesforce, proprietary Online Design Appointment Scheduler, and MyProject.
• Perform other assigned duties.

Working Conditions:

• Limited travel may be required by car.
• Work environment frequently involves a warehouse setting and moving vehicles.
• Noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to noisy.

Physical/Sensory Requirements:

• Medium work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Use hands and fingers frequently for handling or feeling.
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Store Hours:

• Monday - Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 8:00 AM - 7:00 PM
• Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
