JOB SUMMARY

The Communications Graphic Designer serves as a brand ambassador for United Grain. As part graphic designer and part visual storyteller, you equip teams with tools for putting co-creation into practice and craft and package beautiful and compelling stories to share with the global team and beyond. You bring design excellence and inspiration to all projects by creating aesthetically pleasing images that accompany written text by crafting and amplifying the stories that communicate who we are as a company, what we do, and how we interact with and impact communities we serve. Your contribution to the communications planning and execution, includes content development, creation of advertising and other marketing materials, and other mission-related publications for web, social media, and print. This role meets with staff to establish their needs, using design software to complete projects and revises projects based on staff feedback. This position also ensures consistency in internal and external messaging, developing a process for coordinating internal communications. This position serves as the media contact for the agency and supports the Public Relations Specialist for Incident Management purposes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or marketing, and/or have equivalent 6+ years graphics arts production experience, two years of which includes providing direct technical consultation and coordinating graphics design projects through to completion and story telling brand.
  • A compelling portfolio with projects showcasing skills that are relevant to United Grain graphics and branding.
  • Work experience will possess brand identity skills with current consumer trends and be proficient with Photoshop, Illustrator and the major social media software designer programs.
  • Creativity skills and strong implementation capabilities on social media platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Excellent communication skills including speaking, writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation.
  • Exceptional proficiency with design components of Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail: the ability to carefully render content into design, with an eye toward readability, accuracy, and brand, as well as aesthetics.
  • Ability to request accurate printing bids and create press-ready files: color modes, bleeds, file types, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a high throughput, multi-project team environment.
  • Successful completion of project management, design workflow process management, Excellent time management skills, including working with deadlines and flexibility in dealing different staff members.
