Job Summary:

Assist with the support and maintenance of the district’s software applications. Work with the applications administrators to provide analysis of functional areas processes and procedures and recommend solutions to enhance and provide a more efficient method of maintaining the district’s software systems and data.

Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with requirement definition with functional users, software design, hands-on programming, testing and deployment of custom software modules and reports. Assist in the development and maintenance of competence in programming in relational database and Java programming environment.
• Under the direction of the application developer, monitor technology solutions utilized by assigned department(s) for efficiency and effectiveness. Analyze custom feature development requirements in Administration Information Systems, design data blocks, implement custom software and reports to meet user requirements.
• Participate in regular meetings with key stakeholders in assigned departments to discuss business needs and recommend information technology solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of departmental processes and procedures. Utilize knowledge of the college’s Enterprise Resources System as well as other tools, such as SQL, Oracle, Argos, Access, Excel, web tools, etc. to recommend appropriate solutions.
• Assist in the development of project proposals, plans, and timelines based on assigned department(s) goals, objectives, needs and existing system infrastructure. Maintain a high level of communication with key stakeholders, providing clear, tactful, and complete directives, realistic deliverable deadlines, and prompt feedback.
• Assist in the development of general and detailed project documentation. Assist in the development and delivery of user training for new and existing software solutions, system upgrades and patches. Provide ongoing support for end users of software solutions.
• In conjunction with department’s data owners, participate in the review and implementation of functional tools, upgrades and patches of the college’s Enterprise Resources System for assigned departments.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of all software components that comprise the college’s Enterprise Resources System, in particular with the components most closely affecting the assigned functional area
• Knowledge of technical design, technical unit and integration testing, and technical requirements
• Knowledge of federal, state and local policies

• Ability to develop competence with new system tools and functionality
• Ability to gain and maintain an understanding of the business operations/processes of the assigned department(s), as well as current technology solutions used by the department

Requirements:

• High School diploma and a minimum of 30 college semester hours in a computer science program at an accredited institution.
• Associate degree in computer science, engineering, technology, web design, or development from an accredited institution, preferred.
• One (1) year of experience with C++, C#, or JAVA and one or more of the following: Spring Framework, SQL, Cloud based Server solutions (Azure, AWS, etc.).
• Prior experience in Java, JSON, XML, and SQL programming preferred.
• DevOps or deployment experience, Python, Nodejs and usage of RESTful web APIs and services, preferred.
