Level/Salary range:

$30 - $60 per hour

Job Description/Roles and Responsibilities:

• Teach recorder to students in grades 1-2 or 3-5 for an after-school program.
• Execute lessons and activities based upon provided lesson plans.
• Take attendance at the beginning of each class.
• Communicate regularly with school site coordinator and supervisor.
• Manage class using positive discipline.
• Communicate effectively and motivate children.
• Attend weekly meetings and trainings.
• Organize student materials and performance at the end of each trimester.

Qualifications and Education Requirements (minimum of one of the following):

• Associate degree
• 48 college units
• Pass a local equivalency assessment with Oxnard School District (Training can be provided, as necessary)
• AND you must have your own reliable transportation.

Preferred Skills:

• Ability to read music. (We will provide training on how to play recorder, if needed)
• Be flexible and think quickly on your feet.
• Previous experience working with children is preferred.
• Growth mindset and ability to receive feedback.

Hours:

Monday – Friday, 3 hours per day at school for instruction. An additional 2 hours per week of meetings and trainings will be required either in person at the studio in Agoura or when possible, via Zoom.

Pay:

$30.00 - $60.00 per hour
