Mary Ann Liebert, Inc. is a global media company dedicated to creating, curating, and delivering impactful peer-reviewed research and authoritative content services to advance the fields of biotechnology and the life sciences, specialized clinical medicine, and public health and policy.

We are seeking a contract/freelance Web Applications Developer to assist with creating, updating, and maintaining our corporate ecommerce-enabled websites and internal applications.

Responsibilities:

• Web development in a .NET environment using the .NET Framework (3.5 and beyond)
• Including Angular and Blazor
• Building user-friendly graphical user interfaces using Object Oriented Programming
• Documenting functional specifications, updates/changes to applications
• WordPress support and development with themes, plugins and database a plus

Skills:

• Microsoft Stack
• Entity Framework / .NET Core
• Experience programming in Microsoft Frameworks using MVC, Blazor, Razor technologies
• Language-Integrated Query for Relational Data LINQ to SQL and LINQ to Entity
• Source code repository: Azure Dev Ops, TFS/Git, SVN
• APIs: REST, Salesforce (a plus)
• Programming languages: Blazor, Angular, C#, PHP
• Client-side scripting: JavaScript, JQuery, React
• Databases: MS SQL, MySQL, Mongo. Database design, stored procedures, triggers, views
• Markup languages: HTML, XML
• Styling: CSS (Bootstrap)
• Experience with XML, XSLT, DTDs, etc. in a print-to-web related workflow environment
• Managing NuGet packages for solutions
• Data transformation, serialization/de-serialization
• A very good understanding of application usability theory and practice, design patterns
• Strong attention to detail
• Proactive communication and project management skills with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Education:

• BS Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a full-time web-based environment.
• Strong portfolio of prior work
• Minimum of 3 years’ professional development experience
• Experience building user-friendly graphical user interfaces using Object Oriented Programming

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
