The Easton Choral Arts Society seeks an accompanist to accompany our weekly rehearsals and annual performances.

Mission

The Mission of the Easton Choral Arts Society is to promote appreciation of fine choral singing, encourage excellence in vocal performance, further musical education, and provide personal opportunities for artistic expression.

Responsibilities

The Accompanist of the Easton Choral Arts Society is responsible for the following duties:

• Accompany all Chorus rehearsals.
• Provide piano accompaniment for all rehearsals, including:
• Tuesday evening rehearsals from 7:00-9:00pm (On average 28-30 per year)
• 2 Saturday morning choir retreats per year
• 1 Dress rehearsal per concert
• Accompany Chorus performances.
• Annual Holiday Concert (2 performances)
• Annual Spring Concert (2 performances)

Meetings and communication

• Meet as needed with the Artistic Director

Provide other assistance as requested and agreed upon.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in music and/or significant accompanying experience. Strong keyboard skills. Ability to prepare, prior to rehearsal, piano accompaniments and choral scores. Ability to play a wide range of music and musical styles. Ability to confidently run a choral sectional during a regular rehearsal preferred but not required.

Note: ECAS is providing free AirBNB lodging on Tuesday nights or whenever needed during performance week to anyone traveling from a distance to our rehearsals.

Pay: $9,000.00 per year
