Job Description

ROAD is an educational outreach program that is celebrating 25 years and has touched over 11,000 lives. ROAD® has two 10-week sessions with 2nd grade students. At the end of the program, some students are chosen to receive partial to full scholarships to Nan Klinger Excellence in Dance.

Duties:

• Accompany rehearsals and performances for ROAD classes
• Collaborate with teachers to ensure seamless integration of music into the production
• Learn and perform a wide range of musical styles and genres as required by the production
• Attend semi-annual weekend training
• Assist in selecting appropriate musical pieces for the classes
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and punctuality

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in playing the piano with a strong understanding of music theory
• Ability to sight-read sheet music accurately and quickly
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to drive to local schools/organizations in Akron, Ohio
• Be positive, energetic, and upbeat
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple musical pieces and cues

Pay:

From $20.00 per hour
