Contract: Part Time, Intern

Responsibilities:

• Teach melodies and harmonies to singers of varying experience
• Select coordinating tracks and sheet music to fit the ranges of the group form the provided set list
• Build the rehearsal schedule to most effectively learn multiple set lists simultaneously, and provide to the Manager for distribution
• Attend select performances as discussed with the Executive Director
• Lead rehearsals (Sundays and Wednesdays, 7-9p)
• Conduct auditions and make decisions regarding the selection of new members for the ensemble
• Develop and maintain a positive and collaborative working environment

Skills:

• Strong musical background with expertise in conducting and directing musical ensembles
• Excellent knowledge of music theory, composition, and arrangement
• Ability to effectively communicate musical concepts and ideas to performers of varying skill levels
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate musicians
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to manage rehearsals, performances, and schedules effectively
• Flexibility to adapt to different musical styles and genres
• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with musicians, singers, and other performers

Availability:

• Ideal start date Sunday, September 17
• Rehearsals are generally Sundays and Wednesdays from 7-9p, but tech/dress rehearsals and performances will be outside of these times.

• The interview will be with the Executive Director, current MD, and a few singers. You will be expected to display some teaching and directing skills, as well as answer some interview questions. Plan to attend the full hour.
