What You’ll Do

We have an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and experienced Web Developer to support our team on an as needed, but ongoing, freelance basis. In this role, you will focus on the back-end development, functionality and troubleshooting of website(s), maintenance, and (hosted) server management. You should also be comfortable working within WordPress CMS and WebFlow. This is primarily a remote position, with the possibility of in-person meetings on occasion if/when needed. Reports to Creative Director and/or Senior Principal.

• Customize WordPress or WebFlow themes and plugins
• Contribute to all phases of the website development lifecycle
• Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core website(s), platforms, plugins, and databases to ensure strong optimization and functionality
• Develop and deploy new features to facilitate related procedures and tools as necessary
• Performance and load time optimization

Types of projects include both client-focused and internal initiatives – website development, website maintenance & troubleshooting, site refinement and optimization, and database & dynamic site development.

This role may be part-time or contract-based, as per your preference.

Required Qualifications & Abilities

• Minimum of 3-5 years of web development and programming experience
• Strong proficiency in HTML/CSS/JavaScript/jQuery/PHP
• Proficiency in current web development trends
• Strong project/time management and multitasking abilities
• Experience with or familiarity with SQL, Airtable, or other similar relational database solutions
• Knowledge of SEO best practices and tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager
• Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
• Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and methods to resolve them
• The ability to gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Pay: $40.00 - $60.00 per hour
