We are searching for a UI/UX Digital Designer to join our growing design team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the user experience of the Velocity Black mobile app and internal software, Gravity. They will work closely with the Creative Director to develop innovative in-app features using the Velocity Black component library as a foundation. The candidate will also be expected to work on ad-hoc tasks to support the wider design team, from creating internal decks and creating visual assets for various touchpoints.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize the Velocity Black component library to develop new in-app features for the Velocity Black mobile app.
• Develop the user experience and interface of our internal software, Gravity, used by Velocity Black operators to communicate with members.
• Create and maintain design systems to ensure consistency and efficiency in UI/UX design.
• Map out user journeys and evaluate user requirements, translating them into prototypes and comprehensive designs.
• Use Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), and motion graphics to enhance the mobile app’s features for internal presentations.
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure the successful implementation of designs to a high standard.
• Pay meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that designs are both beautiful and accessible.
• Present and explain design concepts effectively to clients and team members.
• Be comfortable working autonomously and staying self-motivated to meet project goals and deadlines.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 4 years of experience as a UI/UX designer
• At least 4 years of experience working with digital design tools such as Figma

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with Google Material is a bonus but not essential.
• Ability to develop concepts for both mobile applications and internal software.
• Familiarity with user-centered design principles and the ability to transform complex ideas into intuitive and visually appealing designs.
• Experience with motion graphics to enhance mobile app features for presentations is a bonus.
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, meeting project deadlines with a keen eye for detail.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $131,400 - $150,000 for Pr. Associate, Design

Remote (Regardless of Location): $111,400 - $127,200 for Pr. Associate, Design

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
