Position: Senior Back-End Developer

Contract: 3-Year Renewable

Location: Midrand (Hybrid Role)

Essential Skills Requirements:

• Technical Knowledge:
• Familiarity with Microservices Architecture, Cloud, and Container Architecture.
• Minimum 6 years of experience with back-end technologies: Java
• JavaScript / TypeScript / Node.js
• Python
• Expertise in cloud technologies, especially Amazon AWS, including: Kubernetes and Serverless
• API Gateway, CloudWatch, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, S3, etc.
• Virtual networks and on-premises communication
• Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Automated deployment and configuration
• Monitoring and… log analytics
• Proficiency with both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Experience in Web Services Design & Deployment, REST, and GIT
• Knowledge of Design/Architecture Patterns
• Agile or Scrum experience

Advantageous Skills Requirements:

• Bonus Points for:
• Experience with Linear and Nonlinear Optimization
• Knowledge of Control Theory
• Familiarity with Machine Learning
• Expertise in Designing Efficient Algorithms (Complexity Theory)
• Performance Testing and Tuning skills

Qualifications/Experience Required:

• Relevant IT Degree
• Cloud Certifications

Your Role and Responsibilities:

• Develop and operate production-ready business applications (24/7)
• Collaborate with customers, team members, and external vendors
• Deploy applications in AWS (via Github)
• Monitor and operate applications within AWS CloudWatch
• Apply cloud-security patterns and concepts to solutions and deployments
