Contract: Full Time, Contractor

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced CAD Designer for our client in Plymouth, MI. This is a full-time contract position. The designer will prepare and support automotive / chassis designs of complex components and associated moderate / complex vehicle sub-systems. Prepare math data files for part components, assembly models, drawings, layouts / Installation Assemblies (IAs) and Instruction Drawings utilizing Siemens NX & Teamcenter (TcAE) Software. Create TcAE release workflow processes. Manage assigned files in accordance with operating procedures. Exercise an intermediate level of independent judgment with management support. Complete assigned design activities to satisfy and support program objectives, while demonstrating professional behavior with peers and management.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (prefer Associate Degree or above)
  • Minimum 6 years automotive chassis related NX design experience preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience in NX Check-Mate (Siemens) or GM DCS operational environment or equivalent
  • Must have a strong ability to read/create drawings
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance skills
  • Strong visualization skills

Knowledge:

  • Automotive experience and talent:
  • Reference basic automotive technology, see below:
  • Chassis system knowledge (preferred)
  • Chassis Structures / Frames / Steering & Suspensions
  • Exhaust / Induction / Controls / Fuel delivery
  • Powertrain mounting / Under-hood packaging
  • Structures / Body
  • Electrical – Chassis integration & component wiring
  • Compartment Integration / Vehicle Assembly Structure (VAS)
  • Design System
  • NX Version 11 & TcAE 11 or above
  • Knowledge of Isuzu / GM Data Creation Standards -Preferred
  • File organization –TcAE workflow process & procedures

Pay:

$30.00 - $45.00 per hour
