Job Description:

The University of Gloucestershire is seeking a Data Scientist (KTP Associate) for a two-year fixed-term contract. The role involves managing and carrying out a research and knowledge transfer project with Iungo Solutions Ltd under the supervision of Professor Hassan Chizari. The project aims to optimize the recruitment and retention of learners for higher technical training provision in new and emerging priority sectors. The key responsibility is to research and design a bi-directional recommendation engine for training courses and interested candidates. The system should include a comprehensive dashboard to monitor its operation and allow for ongoing improvements.

Requirements:

• Recent graduate or associate research fellow with advanced skills in data science
• Experience in machine learning and developing recommendation engines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python or R
• Experience in data manipulation and analysis using SQL
• Ability to work independently and manage a research project
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to work at different locations as required
