Job Description

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office is hiring a Software Engineer II/III to develop and design a system or application to automate communications between County correctional facilities and the Department of Social Services. The engineer will work with other stakeholders to identify data points necessary for each department and implement an electronic system at County correctional facilities to facilitate the suspension and unsuspension of Medi-Cal benefits for incarcerated individuals. The engineer will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and maintaining computer systems, databases, and applications, resolving technology problems, implementing system enhancements, reviewing, modifying, and documenting existing systems, and designing, developing, testing, and implementing new system applications.

Requirements

Education and Experience: A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and two years of experience in analysis, programming, and/or database administration. Alternatively, an associate’s degree or completion from a job-related, accredited vocational institution and four years of experience in analysis, programming, and/or database administration.

Licenses and Certificates: Some positions may require a valid California driver’s license.
