Job Description
Curriculum Associates (CA) is seeking a Freelance Senior Manager, Design for a one-year engagement. The Senior Manager, Design will be responsible for working independently and with the internal design team to develop and manage engaging design solutions for Mathematics curriculum products. This role reports to the Sr. Design Director, Mathematics and requires a passion for exploring and solving issues of inequity in education. A portfolio submission is required for consideration.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a similar creative field, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of experience in the K-12 education space, with a focus on designing for Mathematics
- 5+ years of experience in print design processes and production, including layout, typography, and image manipulation
- Experience developing and implementing product-specific visual design plans
- Experience in Design Thinking and User-Centered Design practices
- Experience leading design efforts and working with freelancers and design vendors
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of prototyping and collaborative tools (Adobe XD, Figma, Mural, etc.)
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
A Plus to Have Experience With
- WCAG accessibility standards
- Design systems and repeatable patterns
- UX artifacts (Personas, User Journeys, Wireframes, User Flows, etc.)
- Understanding of HTML, CSS, and other web standards

Remote USA or Brooklyn, NYC or Billerica, MA
Benefits and Pay Range
Pay Range: $55 - $65 per hour
Benefits: Temporary and per-diem employees who average at least 30 hours of work per week are eligible for medical coverage after 90 days of employment. Temporary and per-diem employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible for twelve paid holidays. All temporary and per-diem employees are eligible for accrued sick time.
