Job Description:

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer with a strong background in Maps/GIS, proficient in Java, Python, and/or C#, and experience with AWS. This is a contract opportunity on C2C/1099 basis, with the expectation of working 4 days in the office.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for leading software engineering teams and building backend data pipelines and processing systems. You will also integrate machine learning models into software solutions and have the opportunity to work with AWS services for large-scale data processing.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience with backend development.
  • Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience leading software engineering teams.
  • Strong expertise in building backend data pipelines and processing systems.
  • Proven experience integrating machine learning models into software solutions.
  • Proficiency in Java programming.
  • Familiarity with AWS services for large-scale data processing, such as Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka, or AWS Glue.
  • Experience building large-volume data web services using AWS technologies.
  • Knowledge of data storage and querying technologies like Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, or Apache Spark.
  • Experience working with terabytes of data and the unknowns of data validation.

Additional Information:

Preferred qualifications for this role include a background in Maps/GIS and proficiency in Python and/or C#. Experience with Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka, or AWS Glue is also valuable. This contract opportunity is located in Kirkland, WA and is open to C2C/1099 arrangements. Hybrid work model is followed with 4 days in the office.
