Contract: Temporary, Full-time

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Junior Software Engineer

REPORTS TO: Software Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: None

JOB PURPOSE: The Junior Software Engineer is responsible for developing new software, maintaining current software products, implementing innovative engineering solutions, and meeting technical objectives and timelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Write high quality, maintainable software
  • Participate in peer reviews, estimation, and other engineering activities
  • Implement algorithms to solve complex problems
  • Develop web-based solutions using C#, .Net, UX/UI technologies

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or equivalent, 0-2 years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and produce engineering documentation, present information effectively, and respond to questions from managers and peers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS AND REASONING ABILITY: Understanding of arithmetic, ability to solve complex logical problems and communicate solutions to other engineering staff.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Experience with C# and JavaScript, web frameworks like .Net, containers design and deployment, object-oriented design, Linux and Windows OS, and network protocols.

OTHER INFORMATION

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting, typing, reading technical documentation, occasional standing and lifting up to 25 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Operates in a professional office environment, occasional exposure to manufacturing areas.

TRAVEL: No travel expected for this position.
