Job Description
The Designer 3 position at HII’s Mission Technologies division involves creating and developing designs for various projects. The role requires utilizing computer-aided design equipment and tools, collaborating with project managers, engineers, and other designers, and ensuring designs meet project requirements and deadlines.
Requirements
To qualify for the Designer 3 role, candidates must have an AA degree or a 2-year technical degree in a related field along with 3 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD software is necessary, as well as an active Secret Clearance. Strong communication, collaboration skills, attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, knowledge of industry trends and best practices in design, and being a U.S. Citizen are also required.
Other Information
- The role may involve 11-25% travel.
- The position is part-time, hourly, and non-exempt.
- Physical requirements include the ability to work in office, industrial, or shipboard environments, climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces and extreme temperatures, and lift materials within guidelines.
- Bonus points for candidates with openness to travel, familiarity with IDEA CAD Standards, and experience with specific shipyards.
