Job Description

As a Senior Scientist Research Computing - Data Scientist at Rutgers University, the incumbent will support the biomedical research community by managing and analyzing data in molecular and cellular biology, genomics, and biomedicine. They will develop new tools, models, algorithms, and software, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide data support, analyze complex datasets, conduct data visualization, lead large-scale data processing, and develop internal and external partnerships.

Requirements

The candidate must have a Master’s degree and a minimum of six years of experience in supporting computationally intensive research projects. Strong communication skills, proficiency in statistical methodologies, machine learning techniques, data visualization tools, programming languages (preferably Python or R), Unix-like systems, and deep knowledge of statistical methods and research infrastructure needs are required. Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in a related field, knowledge of EPIC electronic medical records system, experience with advanced software tools, regulatory requirements handling clinical data, and deep learning frameworks.
