Job Description:
The Web Services Developer will work in the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) National Reporting, Coordinating and Communications Office (NRCCO) located in College Park, Md. They will maintain web-based IT systems, enhance online content management, and create modern educational resources for SARE programs and partners.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
- Experience in developing complex WordPress plugins, themes, and blocks
- Proficiency in managing MySQL / MariaDB databases and file storage systems
- Skilled in OOP PHP8+, JavaScript, React, SCSS, CSS
- Knowledge of WordPress REST API and GIT version control
- Comfortable with NPM for dependency management
- Strong understanding of IT security
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a remote collaborative environment
- Desire to learn new skills
Additional Information:
- Linux Systems Administration and Docker/Container management experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of configuring a NGINX web server
- Experience in working with WordPress multisite environments
