Job Description
Join Avon and Somerset Police to help deliver digital solutions that improve policing services and outcomes for communities. We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer to be part of our User Experience Team, where you’ll design products and services that enhance user experience for the public, Police Officers, and staff. As a UI/UX Designer, you will shape end-to-end user journeys and interfaces, ensuring our digital products are user-centered, intuitive, and accessible.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and refine user interfaces that meet the needs of users: members of the public, Police Officers, and staff.
- Apply and maintain design system standards to ensure consistent user experience across all applications.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to create effective digital experiences.
- Translate user research and feedback into functional designs.
- Create prototypes and wireframes for user testing and iterate designs based on feedback.
- Ensure designs comply with accessibility standards and user experience best practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in user-centered UI/UX design with evidence of work.
- Collaborative spirit with a track record of working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Technical skills in design and prototyping tools, such as Figma, and collaboration tools like Miro.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of advocating for user needs to stakeholders.
- Adaptability in managing priorities and contributing to multiple Agile projects.
Flexible Working
This role is part-time (22.5 hours per week) and offers flexible working arrangements, primarily working from home with some opportunities to work in the office. The offices are located at the Police and Fire Headquarters in Portishead, which includes free parking and various on-site facilities.
Application Information
The salary for this role is £43,098 - £46,674, with an additional market supplement of £3,100 pro-rata, subject to annual review. Applicants must have a checkable 3-year history in the UK and reside within the UK.
